Greenleaf Portland

Perched in the Southwest hills above Portland, Oregon, this venture was a collaborative effort with Emerick Architects, transforming an old farmhouse through a comprehensive remodel and substantial addition to accommodate a vibrant family of six. Our collective vision aimed to pay homage to the original farmhouse while weaving in elements that reflect our clients' Southern California heritage. This approach emphasized maximizing sunlight—a crucial aspect in the often gloomy Pacific Northwest—and selecting a material and color palette that exudes warmth, earthiness, and a relaxed, layered aesthetic, blending modern and vintage influences seamlessly. At the heart of our design were spacious areas designed for cooking, entertaining, and an abundance of books, featuring libraries on both floors and inviting nooks for quiet moments, creating a home that’s as welcoming as it is functional.
