Mount Baker Classic
In this grand manor home, we were tasked with transforming two bathrooms, updating them from their dated states while ensuring the new designs harmoniously aligned with the home's original aesthetic. For the powder room, located off a paneled great hall, we stripped it back to its studs, preserving the classic white hexagonal tile and the original radiator to retain the room's authentic charm. The new oak paneling, inspired by the home's existing decor, features Tudor-style arches that elegantly frame the wall-mounted, un-lacquered brass faucets. A locally crafted Arabesco marble trough sink, carved from a single marble slab, serves as the room's focal point, complemented by walls adorned with hand-painted silk De Gournay wallpaper.
The renovation of the second bathroom, situated upstairs, showcases Bianco Carrara marble countertops and backsplashes set upon vintage-style brass legs and shelves, blending functionality with timeless elegance. Essentials are cleverly concealed behind custom medicine cabinets made from antique 19th-century French mirrors, equipped with internal electrical outlets. The shower area is accentuated with an arched design, surrounded by marble slabs and tiles, marrying modern functionality with the manor's stately essence.
