Laurel Tudor

Tucked away in Seattle's Laurelhurst neighborhood, our client tasked us with refreshing their classic 1930s cottage, infusing it with a modern flair while preserving its old-world charm. The transformation began with a new coat of crisp white paint on the interiors, complemented by strikingly painted black windows. The floors were revitalized to a lighter, natural oak, enhancing the home's brightness. Significant architectural updates included a kitchen overhaul featuring classic shaker-style cabinets, reconfigured to accommodate a spacious island and open shelving, alongside a newly designed hood. Charcoal gray soapstone countertops and backsplash were introduced, a motif echoed in the new living room fireplace surround. The decor seamlessly blends vintage finds with classic European furniture and silhouettes, all illuminated by contemporary lighting fixtures, creating a harmonious blend of past and present.
