First Hill Condo
Working with a repeat client always brings a sense of excitement… This project, a charming pied-a-terre located on First Hill in Seattle, offered us the freedom to decorate without the complexities of construction, per our client's request. Our design journey began years ago, bonding over a shared appreciation for classic and elegant interiors that blend modern sculptural elements with traditional and antique pieces. Inspired by the timeless allure of Parisian apartments, we embarked on this decorating adventure with enthusiasm.
Our inspiration was sparked by an antique Turkish rug for the living room, setting the tone with its palette of creams, dusty cinnamon, olive green, and subtle black accents. This discovery led us to select exquisite green-tufted velvet chairs and pair them with a custom Royere “Polar Bear” sofa, echoing the elegance and spirit of Parisian decor. Ebonized open shelves were introduced to provide a sculptural element and display a harmonious mix of old and new treasures. A commissioned Joseph Albers-inspired Amish-style quilt adds a final touch of warmth and sophistication to the living room. The same serene, earthy palette and refined elegance were carried through to the dining area and bedroom, ensuring a cohesive and inviting atmosphere throughout.
