Modern Scandinavian

When a repeat client came to us with the mission to re-do a vintage Ralph Anderson mid century home, we were especially inspired by the site and its connection to the natural elements of the Pacific Northwest. The client asked for a Scandinavian inspired aesthetic and an open-concept living space. We started with a palette of white washed oak and crisp whites punctuated by black accents.

The goal was to establish a whole house palette that would move soothingly and rhythmically through the house. We used textures and layers of grays and earth tones in stone, tile and wood. For the furnishings, we choose several classic mid century pieces and then mixed them with modern Italian upholstery and more ethnic rustic pieces. While we worked to create many “wow” moments in the house, we kept them in concert with each other so that no one thing takes away too much attention from the overall casual elegance of the house.
